Stage Two - Telephone Interview (new staff only)
The telephone interview will be led by one of the members of the Recruitment Team and will provide the opportunity to learn more about you and your experiences. You will answer a series of competency and scenario-based questions to assess your suitability for the role. If successful, a conditional contract offer will be issued along with an invitation to a compulsory Virtual Assessment Event.
Stage Three - Virtual Assessment Event (new staff only)
It is compulsory for all new general/specialist staff who are issued conditional employment offers to attend a Virtual Assessment Event. The event is made up of interactive workshops and presentations that will allow you to showcase your skills. This will also give us the opportunity to assess your suitability for your contracted role. We have various dates and times available for you to book onto. This will be a great opportunity for you to meet potential future colleagues and find out more information about the company before your employment starts.
Stage Four - Background Checks
Successful applicants will be offered employment subject to obtaining an Enhanced DBS check through Barracudas. We can accept DBS checks issued through an external company as long as they are registered with the Update Service. New staff need to provide two satisfactory professional references (or academic if no professional referees are available) Returning staff will need to provide one up to date reference each year as part of our safer recruitment policy and OFSTED registration.
Stage Five - Online Training
Our Online Training programme is tailored to your role and will allow you to learn about our Barracudas policies and procedures ahead of your Induction Training day at camp. All staff must complete the Online Training; you will be emailed a few weeks before the start of the season to allow you time to complete it.
Stage Six - Set Up Days and Induction Training
These dates will be circulated to you via email once they have been confirmed, and we'll require you to confirm whether you can attend. The Set Up days are additional, paid days and are a great way of meeting and getting to know your camp team. They are also a great opportunity to get to know the camp in more detail helping to set up the activity areas.
Induction Training is compulsory for all staff to attend and usually takes place within a 7-day period before your camp is due to open. The day will give you an idea of what to expect during your time on camp; from registration to learning about the sessions you can lead with your group. It is also a great opportunity to meet your team and collect your uniform prior to your first day!
