Having a WILD time at summer camp
We opened a whopping 37 summer camps this week and are off to a flying start. We’ve made so many memories and kids have had an amazing time with us.
Here are just a few of the fantastic things we’ve got up to at our summer holiday clubs.
Camp highlights
Bedford summer camp
Bedford had an out of this world time taking part in our new Rocketeers course! They started with a marshmallow experiment, expanding their marshmallow in a vacuum. Kids learnt all about the same principles that NASA and Space X use when they launch their space rockets. They made their rockets with their new found knowledge and had a blast (off) launching them. Just take a look at how much fun they had!
There was so much more going on at Bedford this week too, from bouncy castles to funky dancing...
Chigwell
Children loved the swimming sessions in the fantastic outdoor pool! Just look back to this fun session.
Chelmsford
It’s been a great week at camp and kids are having an amazing time. Billy Barracuda has loved meeting parents at collection time and entertaining them (and the children) with some slick dance moves!
Colchester
We're enjoying our second year at Colchester and camp is full of buzz and excitement. Children are loving the well run swimming sessions and having a great time splashing about and developing skills. The Dance and Drama sessions are also keeping kids well entertained as they enjoy expressing themselves through movement.
Harlow
Camp has got off to a great start and we’ve all had so much fun here already! Kids have loved swimming sessions, fencing and motorsports this week. The atmosphere on camp is buzzing and sessions have been engaging and fun filled throughout the week.
High Wycombe
It’s the second week of camp at High Wycombe, and we’re pleased to be really wowing the children with standout activities. Our Lifeguard is delivering excellent swimming sessions and we’re loving seeing children’s water confidence grow at camp this summer. Our red shirt teams are bringing tonnes of enthusiasm to camp and building fantastic relationships with the children.
Milton Keynes
This is the first week for our brand new camp location. Our experienced Camp Manager has got things off to a smooth start and we’ve launched right in to a summer of fun! We love this great new venue with excellent facilities both indoors and outdoors, meaning children have been able to make the most of our full range of activities, whatever the weather.
Twickenham St Catherine’s
Just some photos from camp last week! Kids have loved taking part in amazing archery sessions and team building games. The camp staff (many of them PE teachers during term time!) are delivering high quality sessions and kids are loving the activities and positive vibe on camp. Children are really loving the arts and crafts sessions and have created some outstanding pieces with us this week.
TikToks
Our camps have loved showing us what they’re up to this summer and we’ve loved seeing their unique TikToks. Last week Maidstone thrilled us with the Barracudas song, Bishop’s Stortford showcased waterpark fun and Friday Finale, Cambridge St Faith’s was ‘rolling into summer’, Crawley got the kids involved in a fun mash up and Farnham showed off the Dance and Drama session. Instagram takeovers
We love seeing all the fun at camp with our Instagram takeovers. Last week we got a sneak peak into Hemel Hempstead, Huntingdon camps. From motorsports, swimming, yoga and dodgeball to our Friday Finale and charity fundraiser. Take a look at our Instagram account to keep up to date with Barracudas this summer.
Friday Finale
This week’s theme was Animal Avatar and we’ve love threading through some wild tweaks to our activities this week. We roared into Friday Finale and kids loved our special end of week events! Bishop’s Stortford staff took it to another level with their animal groups competition, even spraying their hair to match the colour of their groups. Amazing work, right there!

Staff member of the week
We love a bit of healthy competition at our camps. We like to recognise all the things each of our camps are doing to create an amazing experience for kids in the school holidays. Harry, Fencing Instructor at Hemel camp, was the lucky winner of our coveted ‘staff member of the week’ competition.
Here’s what camp had to say about him:
“Harry has been our fencing instructor this week, but not only that, has worn the hat of a group leader, activity leader, runner, artist, aquaslider, facepainter, and penguin (he has won best dressed today for his penguin Animal Avatar!) He has brought unmatched enthusiasm and friendliness to both staff and children, and has gone above and beyond everyday: always on hand to help with anything.”
Well done, Harry. We love to hear how our staff are making memories and ensuring kids are having an amazing experience at camp.
