Kids had the chance to make their own stop motion movies this summer!
This year children attending our Barnet Camp and Bishop’s Stortford Camp got the chance to learn from the experts and create their own stop motion short film with Playmobil.
Our friends at Playmobil came in to show the children what goes on behind the scenes and to give them an insight into what goes into creating their films. What’s more, they even got to make their own mini movies!
Children worked in small groups to create an outline of their story and put together their own story boards before using the backdrops and Playmobil characters to film their scenes on iPads provided by the team. They were given the exciting opportunity to create their own film inspired by Playmobil: The Movie using characters from the film.
Their imaginations went wild and they created some amazing and diverse films.
Take a look at an edited montage of the final results here:

The staff were all super helpful and the workshops seemed to go down really well; the children really seemed to enjoy them! We were really impressed by the films they made too.

Kids really developed their knowledge of stop motion during this fun activity. The session was well organised and the expert was engaging. It’s something I’ll be looking at introducing in my school!

The kids loved it! The expert was great and the sessions were well run. It’s great to see the end result of a great activity.
We hope we’ve inspired some future stop motion film makers and see a bright future for these creative minds!
