We’re giving you an insight into what makes Barracudas tick. Although our camps are seasonal, we have a team that work at our head office in Cambridgeshire throughout the year.
Every week we’ll be giving you an insight into our wonderful teams!
This week we chat to the marketing team.
What does the marketing team do?
Claire: We plan and implement marketing activities for Barracudas. We run online and offline campaigns across multiple platforms.
Skye: We reach out to parents in our local areas to promote and market our camps, spreading the word about our holiday activities.
Karen: We promote our holiday camp services to local parents in many ways, the aim always being to communicate our high standards of care and wide range of activities. We also keep in regular contact with our existing customers, providing updates about news and offers.
What’s the best part of your job?
Tanya: I enjoy reading the lovely feedback from our parents on social media. I also go out to camp to take photos and videos of the kids and staff having fun on camp. I love seeing their smiley faces and capturing that moment on camera.
Claire: Creating fun campaigns and innovating to find ways we can spread the word and raise awareness about Barracudas.
Rebecca: I like the time we sponsored a fish called Graham!
Karen: I love visiting the summer camps and seeing all the children having fun, which is what we've worked all year round to achieve.
What do you love about working at Barracudas
Skye: The socials! Although we’re often really busy, we always find time to all get together to bond as a team.
Tanya: We also have lots of buffets – we throw the best buffets ever!
Karen: I love that we work well as a team. We’re a close-knit office so it doesn’t matter what team you work in; we all help each other when needed.
Claire: Although we’re in the head office most of the year, we do get the chance to visit our camps. I love meeting the children and staff and seeing all the fun everyone has at camp. It's a Brucie bonus that we get to take part in the activities!
Rebecca: All of us get the opportunity to take part in staff assessment and training days. I really enjoy these weekends as you get to meet new people and take part in the hiring process for staff on camp. This is great as we aren’t limited to our own role and it gives us a better understanding of camp.
What’s your favourite activity on camp?
Rebecca: I really love how fast paced Powerball and Kin-ball is, so I would say these are my favourite.
Skye: I love to swim so swimming is my favourite.
Claire: Mine is archery as it is an unusual activity that I’d never had the chance to try before working at Barracudas. Also, it helps to improve my hand to eye coordination which is shockingly bad!
Karen: The giant inflatables are really fun so these are definitely my favourite!
Tanya: I love all of the activities – I wish I could join camp as a kid! But, as I’ve always been a bit of an adrenaline junkie, I would say quad bikes is my favourite!
That’s it from our marketing team – next week we will be meeting the recruitment team!
