Are your kids getting bored of this cold, wet and miserable weather? No fear, as we have the answer to keeping the kids entertained this winter without spending a small fortune. Take a look at some of our favourite indoor activities:
Bedroom cleaning competition
Perfect for getting your little ones to clean their bedroom whilst having a little fun! Set a timer and see which child can clean their bedroom the quickest. The child who wins gets to pick the next activity or treat.
Board games
Why not dig out your old board games and have hours of fun as a family. If you don’t have any board games and don’t want to fork out for new ones, why not try your local charity shop as they are usually filled with them.
Making and decorating cress heads
Grab some cleaned out egg shells and get your children to draw funny faces on them. Pop in some cotton wool and some cress seeds - then watch your eggs grow hair!
Photography days
Let your kids be creative for the day and challenge them to take pictures around the house. Get them to be extra creative by asking them to create a story out of these images. At the end of the day print out the images and pop them into a scrapbook as a memory of the day.
Patchwork quilt
Teach your children to sew by making their very own patchwork quilt. This activity is perfect if your kids need a good wardrobe sort out. Send your children on a mission to their wardrobes and get them to pick out clothes that no longer fit them. Put all of these together to make a patchwork quilt – find out how you can put this together here!
Cook!
Spend this time teaching your children a valuable life lesson skill by teaching them how to cook.
Summer is only round the corner now – we are definitely dreaming of those warm summer days!
