We’re looking forward to half term fun at 15 Barracudas Activity Day Camps. With just a few weeks to go we’ve got some top tips to help you and your child prepare for an amazing time at camp.
Pre-camp checks
It might seem simple, but check your details before camp! It’s an especially good idea to double check the details if you booked some time ago. We send the confirmation at the time of the booking so please check through this to make sure you’ve got the right camp on the right days.
Please remember to fill in and sign your Essential Information form for each child before they join us. We need this to be done each new season. The good news is this process is all online, so you just need to log into your account, or you can do this from your parent app!
You'll need your child's unique QR code to register them in the morning and collect them at the end of the day. These will have been sent with your original booking confirmation, or you can access them via the parent app.
Review what’s on offer
Before they join us, take a look at the activities we offer. You can get more information by finding your camp page or by visiting our half term camps page. We have over 80 activities at our camps so there’s plenty for them to get excited about. We run 6 sessions each day and there is a choice of activity for every one. Please be aware that we don't run our specialist activities such as archery, fencing or motorsports at our half term camps.
We are pleased to be offering activities with our Awesome Autumn theme this half term. With tweaks to some of our popular activities throughout the week, special seasonal arts & crafts and finishing the week with our Friday Finale (even more reason to book in for a full week of fun!). Of course, we're always about variety, so there'll be plenty of non themed options to enjoy for each session too!
Build the excitement
Whether they’ve been to camp before or are new to Barracudas, we’ve got loads of fun videos on our Youtube channel that they’ll love. Returners can remind themselves of the fun they’ll have at camp and if they’re coming to camp for the first time our highlight video will give them an idea of what to expect.
Plan the logistics
It’s a good idea to plan your journey ahead of camp. You can find out how long it will take you to get to camp by clicking the ‘Give me directions’ link or what3words on your camp page. Our standard day is drop off between 8.30am and 9.30am and collection between 4.30pm and 5.30pm. If you’ve got a tight commute or need to be somewhere else you can get even more flexibility by adding our Early and Late Clubs.
What to pack
It’s a good idea to get their stuff ready the day/night before camp to avoid the morning panic! We’d also suggest taking a look at our Parent Guide before this to make sure you’ve got everything you need. There’s no need to panic, there’s no extra equipment they need to bring, just the usual stuff including spare clothes and swimming things if your camp has an indoor pool. We do suggest that all items are clearly labelled so we can reunite owners with any missing items!
Lunch and snacks
We don’t have any food available at our camps so children will need to come in with a packed lunch and refillable water bottle. We also have a morning break and afternoon break so advise that have something extra in their packed lunch for these times too. It’s a busy day at Barracudas and the kids burn off loads of energy with our fantastic range of activities so we’d suggest packing a bit more than you would in a usual packed lunch for school. You can find more tips in our Parent Guide as well as our handy blog.
FAQs
Don't forget, we have lots of useful information in our FAQ's. If you'd like to discuss anything about your booking ahead of camp, please email our friendly customer services team at info@barracudas.co.uk or call us on 01480 467 567.
