How your child will develop with us this summer
Watch your children bloom…
Holiday camps don’t need to be viewed as just another form of childcare to help you out over the long summer break (whilst we can appreciate that’s exactly what we are for many), there are plenty of benefits of sending your child to holiday camps, (without pointing out the obvious) to HAVE FUN!
Activity camps are a perfect place for kids to keep growing when schools are out.
Here are just 6 ways they'll grow with us in the school holidays:
Personal development
At camp your children will have the opportunity to try a whole host of new activities. and with that develop plenty of new skills, from painting and crafting, science experiments, to archery, football or even circus skills - they’ll be itching to show them off to you!
We can give them the freedom to explore and experiment in a low risk, safe environment and watch them thrive.
Plus, we also offer key skills courses. You can add a Skills Builder course to week long bookings, or even enrol them in one of our specialist courses!
Social Skills
Kids learn to interact with their peers and camp staff during their time at a holiday club. Taking part in the varied activities available at Barracudas gives them the chance to develop a number of key social skills. The less formal environment involving different activities and changing group structures means kids learn leadership and diplomacy skills and crucially, a real sense of self.
Kids will interact with more children than they normally would when they're at camp. Children who live in different villages or towns, attend different schools and have a wide range of interests.
An activity camp fosters teamwork, cooperation and negotiation. As they gain these experiences, their confidence in their ability to manage social interactions will increase.
Adaptability
No 2 days are the same here at Barracudas, and when the English weather shows us 4 seasons in one day, we have plenty of exciting activities lined up that work come rain or shine!
Trying new activities all the time and regularly welcoming new faces to their groups help children increase their ability to adapt to new situations and environments and take on new challenges with more confidence.
Confidence
Meeting new people, forming new friendships and trying out new skills in a completely new environment will all help boost their confidence. As a result of these experiences they'll be more likely to try new activities and take risks – knowing they have done it before and had fun!
At our activity camp, kids will learn they are capable, creative, talented, athletic and more! We have a wonderful team of camp staff, that are all super encouraging and inspiring.
It’s great when we welcome a shy child to camp in the morning and after a fun and full day they leave us full of self-belief and a healthy amount of pride in what they’ve achieved at the end of the day, looking forward to coming back!
Communication and team spirit
Holiday camps are the perfect opportunity to encourage your children to work with other children their own age, outside of their normal friendship circles.
Teamwork makes the dreamwork! Holiday camps encourage plenty of team activities, giving the children different situations in which they can forge bonds and relations as a team, identify roles as leaders and learn to cooperate with others, once again boosting their confidence.
Responsibility
We're able to provide 2 different activities for each session, it's up to each child to make that choice. Giving them the responsibility and freedom to choose allows them to feel safe and in control of the situation and allows for a wider variety of activities to keep them entertained. Plus, you can be sure they'll always be doing something they love.
So, as well as the new pencil case and shiny new shoes, your children will be going back after their summer holidays with new valuable key skills, extra confidence and most importantly, some wonderful memories.
