Summer camp highlights from 18th - 25th July

What a week to open our 1st summer camps! The heatwave provided some challenges, but we were well prepared and kids had a great time.

High Wycombe, Streatham and Twickenham St Catherine’s all got off to a flying start and we’ve started as we mean to carry on.

Camps have really set the bar high once again and we’re looking forward to opening 36 more camps next week. Bring it on!

Funded places for Ukrainian children

We are proud to have been able to work with Mail Force to offer fully funded places for Ukrainian children this summer.

This will give Ukrainian children much needed relief and a boost in the summer holidays as they’re adjusting to life in the UK. We’re pleased they’ll have the opportunity to meet friends and build their confidence at camp with us this summer.

We’re lucky to have 2 Ukrainian speaking colleagues in our head office team to help us support children and staff at camp and to answer any questions from Ukrainian speaking parents. We’ve worked hard to provide useful resources at camp, including visual translation guides and a translation app.

We’re looking forward to welcoming more Ukrainian children to our camps throughout the summer.

High Wycombe

It’s been a great start to our High Wycombe summer camp. The facilities at this venue are superb and children loved the large air conditioned sports hall on Monday and Tuesday during the heatwave.

Kids have got involved with lots of fun activities, from motorsports and swimming through to team building and arts and crafts.

Streatham

Kids have had a great week at our Streatham venue.

Twickenham St Catherine’s

The camp atmosphere has been amazing during our 1st week at Twickenham St Catherine’s. Staff have worked well to keep kids cool at the beginning of the week and we made great use of the pool!

We also arranged to have access to 2 additional spaces in the school on Tuesday to make sure we had more indoor options for groups during the hottest day.

“Fantastic Team at St Catherine’s Twickenham. Working in the heat too - and my child still has a great time!! The blue team girls (Molly, Sian and Lily) do an amazing job, providing the children with the best day, with great staff with my child excited about who would be their leader today. Inclusive camp and really know all the children by name - Makes you feel welcomed. Going to book again if I can find a space as they are fully booked - but not surprised as what a great bunch of staff there!!” Sharon
