The school holidays should be a time to look forward to – right? Well yes, you’d think so! But the reality is that unless you’ve got the prospect of a lovely family holiday away or a week off to enjoy long days at the seaside or trips to theme parks the prospect of school holidays can be a daunting thought for many parents.
Knowing your holiday entitlement can never match the number of days the kids have off school in any one year and that to pay for those family holidays and expensive days out you need to work can be a real headache for working parents. What can you do to keep the kids entertained, not just occupied, during the school holidays that allows you to work? And is there an option that means all of the kids will enjoy it rather than appealing to just one of them?
Well, you could team up with friends or family and see if you can cover days between you and that’s a good option at times and works for many. But it rarely gives you the flexibility you need when working full weeks and full-time hours. Then there’s the grandparents and who wouldn’t love a day full of ice-cream and treats and a ‘yes’ to anything that’s asked of them but we all know this isn’t sustainable for either the children or the grandparents during the school holidays.
When you start to look further afield, there are specialist activity camps and often initiatives run by local councils but this can mean dropping kids off in multiple places in the morning or having to start work later or leave early as the sessions run from 9.30/10am in the morning and are often finished by 4pm. Plus, kids can struggle to be kept entertained all day with the limited activities.
That’s why a multi-activity day camp is such a great solution for so many parents. Firstly, it ticks the box for running throughout the school holiday, not just the odd day which might not suit your schedule. Secondly, day camps are typically open from as early as 8am until as late as 6pm meaning you’ve got time to get the kids dropped off and get to work on time - even if that is back to the home office!
But what’s most important is you can get on with your work in the comfort that the kids will be fully entertained all day with a range of exciting activities that are tailored for children from as young as 4½ right up to 14 years old. Providing load of activities, for both girls and boys, and for different interests. Multi-activity camps are your one stop shop for holiday entertainment and childcare!
There are the old favourites such as mini olympics and power ball. Then there are new activities such as circus skills and motor sports where the kids can learn new skills. There are a whole host of creative options for the arts enthusiasts, and sporty sessions such as kin ball, quidditch and archery that will have even the most active child worn out!
The great news is that Barracudas offers an unrivalled range of over 80 activities. Not only that, but for each of the 6 daily sessions, children get a choice of activities, making them masters of their own day.
By choosing a holiday day camp provider for your children, you’re choosing a fun, safe place where your kids will be with other kids the same age and staff that are there to give every child such an amazing experience they’ll be desperate to go back. This means the next time a school holiday comes around you might not be so worried by the thought of it. There’ll be no more guilt, no juggling of child-care and your most important concern - happy children. Now that’s a win-win for you and them!
