We’re all aware of the unique challenges children have experienced over the past year. Kids have overcome a range of unexpected hurdles. There’s no doubt that this may have affected their mental and physical health.
Thankfully things are beginning to get back to normal which is great news for us all. Children can begin to get back on track and recover from the impact of the national restrictions implemented in response to the pandemic.
Activity camps are not just convenient childcare during the holidays (although that is a huge benefit!). There are many ways they can help to improve children’s mental and physical health too. Here are some ways in which Barracudas will help your child this summer:
There’s no doubt that children haven’t had as many opportunities to get active in lockdown. Keeping active is not only essential for our physical health but also benefits our mental wellbeing.
Getting active strengthens their heart and lungs, reduces blood sugar levels, strengthens the bones, increases energy levels and improves emotional wellbeing.
Whether they’re into team sports or individual activities, with over 80 options available at Barracudas, they’ll love getting moving at camp!
Kids are now back at school and able once again to socialise with their peers. This is crucial at every stage as they develop into young adults. It’s through these social interactions that they develop emotional and social skills and build a sense of self worth.
In the long school holidays children can miss out on these vital experiences. Activity camps are a great way to keep them connected in the times when they’re not attending school.
At Barracudas they’ll get the opportunity to meet new people and form new friendships away from the school environment. This not only helps to build confidence, but also encourages empathy and tolerance.
There are amazing benefits to gain from a bit of fresh air. It boosts our immune systems, reduces stress and anxiety, improves sleep and boosts our vitamin D levels. Kids love to play outdoors, with all that space to run about in and fresh air to keep them alert.
Barracudas venues are carefully selected to offer the best facilities in each area we operate in. Our camps have amazing outdoor spaces to make the most of the selection of activities on offer and inspire children.
Trying new things is great for children. Learning a new skill boosts confidence and self esteem. We love to see the kids at camp get stuck in to a whole range of activities. Every season children leave Barracudas with new passions and skills.
Our unrivalled range of activities at Barracudas are selected to offer something to suit every interest. From team work, to sports, to dance right through to amazing creative sessions. What’s more, we’ve got a whole host of new activities they’ll love this year!
Creative activities benefit kids in a range of ways. From helping your child’s intellectual and cognitive development, to problem solving, developing imagination and improving concentration and critical thinking.
Barracudas’ extensive range of creative sessions are loved by the children and staff alike. We love to see the amazing things kids make at camp. It also gives them the chance to personalise their base room spaces and the registration area, really leaving their footprint at camp.
We love to see children grow during their time at camp. It can be a little nerve wracking joining a new environment but Barracudas’ welcoming atmosphere, supportive staff and friendly approach quickly puts kids at ease.
They get to meet new children who quickly become friends and try new activities which bolsters their self belief. Kids overcome challenges, develop new skills and gain a new level of independence in our fun and caring environment and walk out of camp 10 feet taller!
We were pleased to have operated our biggest Easter season ever this year in challenging circumstances.
We’re now looking forward to a summer of fun across all our 42 camps.
We can’t wait to see your child grow with us this year!
