Barracudas Activity Day Camps

Your Top 10 questions answered in brief!

We have several information sheets to help reassure you and your child that Barracudas offers fun, quality and most of all safe children's Easter and summer activity day camps.  You can download these as pdf's at the bottom of this page.

Are you Ofsted registered?
Yes.  The inspection results for our activity day camps are unbeatable and we are listed in Ofsted’s publicised list of ‘Outstanding providers’.  All camps for kids should be registered with Ofsted and inspected regularly.  For more information about Ofsted and how we meet holiday childcare regulations, please download the 'Your assurance of our quality' PDF at the bottom of this page.

Who are your staff?
Our staff are recruited from the education sector, mainly working as teachers or qualified coaches.  We also employ staff who are currently undergoing teacher training or completing sports related courses.  All of our staff are checked by the Criminal Records Bureau for their suitability to work on the children's camps.  Please download the 'Your assurance of our quality' PDF at the bottom of this page.

What are the staff to child ratios?
For children aged 4 - 7 years the staff ratio is 1:8.  For children aged 8 – 10 years the staff ratio is 1:12 and for children aged 11+ the staff ratio is 1:14.  For more detail, please download the 'Your child's day' PDF at the bottom of this page.

Who can come to camp?
We are registered with Ofsted to take children who have reached their fifth birthday on or before 28th February 2011 (or 31st Oct 2010 when children are attending Easter camp) up to the age of 16 years.

If your child has special needs we will be pleased to discuss how we might accommodate them at the activity camps.  We aim to welcome all children provided that Health and Safety regulations are not compromised in any way.  Barracudas will treat all children equally and respect them as individuals.

How will my child be grouped?
Children are grouped with others of a similar age.  Generally the maximum age difference of children in a group will not be more than 18 months.  For more information, please download the 'Your child's day' PDF at the bottom of this page.

What activities are included?
Our sample timetable shows you the range of activities included in the standard programme. This list is not exhaustive as we have apporximately 100 activities in total! We also offer Skills Builder courses in some activities for children who would like further coaching in these activities.

What happens if it rains?
All of our Easter and summer camps are situated in England, so there will be times when we need to move the camp activities indoors!  All of our day camps have appropriate indoor facilities and we have a special programme that we automatically switch to in the event of wet weather.

What times are you open?
Our standard hours are 8.30am – 5.30pm.  We can also offer our Early and Late Clubs to extend the day from 8am to 6pm. For more information, please download the 'Your child's day' PDF at the bottom of this page.

How much does it cost?
With our discounted places, 2010 prices start from only £124.50 per child per week (or even less if part of a large group booking! Call 0845 123 5299 for more details). This represents unbeatable value for money for the widest selection of activities and the highest standards of care.

What is your 'Money Back Guarantee'?
If you're still not sure about joining Barracudas Activity Day Camps this year and you haven't been to us before we have a special promise. Your child can come to camp, meet the FUN staff and try the awesome activities and if after the first day they don't love it, you can let us know and we'll try even harder.  If your child still doesn't think we're great after the second day, we'll be really disappointed but we'll give you all your money back and also a £10 voucher to try again another year.
