Summary: Television presenter Piers Morgan has urged children to try new activities instead of staying cooped up indoors

Kids need to try new activities rather than stay indoors playing on computer games, one TV presenter has suggested.
Britain's Got Talent judge Piers Morgan said children spend too much time cooped up watching television and scrambling their brains, The Yorkshire Evening Post reports.
Instead, he noted youngsters need to take a step back in time, like when he was a kid and participate in outdoor activities like playing football and getting fresh air.
The former newspaper editor is backing Npower's No Power Hour campaign, which encourages parents to participate in activities with their offspring without using any electricity.
A road show will visit towns and cities across the UK and kids will be able to take part in football-related activities.
Last month, West Midlands Police were out in force to persuade youngsters to try new activities rather than walk the streets.
Just Youth laid on a range of activities for local children, which included football, photography and drawing sessions.
