Kids in Camden had the chance to try new activities

Kids in Camden had the chance to try a range of new activities during the official opening of the revamped Morning Crescent Gym.

The facility will be used for the Choice and Opportunities Online-Line (COO-L) project - which runs through until March 2011 - and gives youngsters the chance to get their hands on £15 a month so they can pay for a wide range of activities.

Children aged between nine and 11 who are disabled, get free school meals or have special educational needs can sign up to the initiative.

During the open day, kids had the chance to try new activities like basketball, dance and tizzball.

Councillor Tulip Siddiq, cabinet member for culture, at Camden Council remarked: "Not only was the open day a great chance to try new exciting activities, but it was also a great chance to show off our newly refurbished Mornington Crescent Gym."

She added the refurbished service is now ready to get Camdeners fit for the 21st century.
