Kids and families in Redhill to try a range of activities

A variety of activities will be held in Redhill over the coming weeks, as the local authority aims to get people out and about.

Families in the area will be able to attend an evening bat walk next Thursday (May 27th), with six different species to be spotted around Priory Park Lake.

And on June 26th children can try their hand at new activities when the Priory Park Community Festival returns, with traditional fairground rides and live music also part of the fun.

Adam De Save, executive member for leisure and wellbeing at the council, suggested the site will be offering something for everyone over the course of the summer, regardless of the weather.

"Since the restoration of Priory Park was completed in 2008, park staff have been working hard to build an interesting and varied year-round programme of events," he said.

Former Olympian Colin Jackson recently urged youngsters to get fit by walking, with Wales Online noting he is backing the Global Children's Challenge Initiative.
