Kids who try outdoor activities 'can increase their wellbeing'

Summary: Youngsters should try new activities outdoors to increase mental health and wellbeing, a survey suggests.

Children and adults who try new activities outdoors like walking or cycling can increase their overall wellbeing, according to a new study.
The account from the Environmental Science and Technology journal revealed youngsters would get more advantages from leading an active lifestyle, the BBC reports.
Spending just five minutes a day outside doing activities like horse riding, boating or fishing can make a difference.
Researchers also stated that the effects are increased when exercise is carried out in areas where water is present such as by a river or lake.
Jules Pretty is the study leader from the University of Essex and he noted "green exercise" would benefit people or youngsters who are stressed, inactive or those who suffer with mental illness.
TV presenter Ben Fogle recently suggested that mums and dads may want to think about going on a camping break this summer so their offspring have the opportunity to try new activities.
