Children encouraged to try camp activities this summer

Summary: Mums and dads may want to encourage their kids to try new activities like camping, it has been suggested.

Parents may want to consider a camping holiday this summer so their children get the chance to try new activities, a TV presenter suggests.
In a survey conducted by Argos, almost half of the participants revealed they would be more likely to go on a family walk if they were on a camping holiday.
The pastime is growing in popularity and TV presenter Ben Fogle said that the recent volcanic eruption and airline strikes have made people realise that a holiday in the UK may be the safer option.
He remarked: "For my job I obviously camp in some quite extreme places around the world, but I think the message I am trying to get across is that camping is accessible to everyone and it is fun."
Mr Fogle also stated that there are a wide range of campsites across the country that have a number of luxuries and entertainment on offer for parents and their kids.
